Storm

One night when my son got off work, I had promised to take him to a friends house. When he got in the car it had began to rain a few drops. I was hesitant because there had been an alert for tornado watches and severe storms in the area. Truth is, storms are just not my cup of tea, so driving and knowing one was coming adds just a bit more anxiety! We hadn't got up the road far when suddenly the rain began to pour and the wind began to really pick up. I wanted to turn back and I even suggested it to my son. At one point it was raining so hard that I couldn't see a thing. I felt like we were barely moving down the road. I kept telling my son " I think we should just go home". But my son just kept saying keep going, you good, I can see the white lines on the side of the road. (as if he was guiding me) It was only a few miles up the road before we ran completely out of the storm. We drove on and made it to our destination and I was relieved! On my way back home I only drove through a light drizzle. The closer I got home I could see all kinds of debris on the road. It was almost like I had missed an even worse storm than the one I was in. Isn't that just how life is when God takes you through a storm? You want to turn around, find another way, or even stop during the storm. And when you can't see your way, don't know how or when he's gonna bring you out; he speaks through a kind word, a scripture, or a song letting you know that you may not be able to see what he's doing but he's there leading and guiding you through. So don't turn back to avoid the storm, things may end of being worse than the storm you're in. Keep riding it through till the end and come out in Victory! 🌪🙌🏽
