Rock wall

Almost a year ago I woke up early one Saturday morning and headed to the park. I needed some fresh air as my room was just too stuffy for my thoughts. I remember swinging on the swings then finally sitting on a bench with paper and pen in hand. Not really writing anything just doodling. As I sat there pondering I noticed a father playing with his son who couldn’t have been more than 3 years old. The son played on the jungle gym and eventually I saw him standing at the top of the rock wall. He wanted to climb down but his dad immediately said “you can’t come down that way, it’s too high you may fall.” The son pleaded with him for a bit before going down the jungle gym a different way. Once he was down on the ground I heard him ask his dad “can I climb up the wall?” His dad replied “yes.” As the son began to climb the dad stood behind him. He didn’t say one word, just watching, but I’m sure he would of reached up to grab him if he had started to fall. With every step the little boy took I fought back the tears. For God was simply showing me my fears. How many times have we wanted to go one way but God sent us differently? He sees the dangers ahead even when we don’t. We must be led by him daily, taking one step at the time. Not looking back but moving forward. Pressing with purpose until we reach our appointed place in him. Yes sometimes it seems like he is silent in our climb but we have to trust that he is right there to catch us when we stumble and fall. Now the ironic part of this is that I’ve never actually been on a rock wall because I’m afraid of the height~But to get higher in him I must continue to climb! #nofear #Godsgotme
