#LinkUp

I was reminded about an event I attended several years ago. My oldest son was pledging in a fraternity. I was so excited to attend his probate. We sat in a crowd of family and friends cheering and screaming "I see you 7"(that's what you say instead of their names) As he and his line brothers entered, they were linked up arm in arm, swaying from side to side, in sync with the music that played throughout the gym. We watched as each part of the probate took place. My favorite part was hearing one of the older brothers yell "link up"! They would all link up tightly one behind the other, arm under arm, heel to toe, and chin to head....such precision! And even when I thought the line was just perfect you could hear one of the older brothers say "tighten up!" And they'd get a lil closer. It was definitely exciting to watch and I was one proud mama! Now here I am 4 years later thinking about that event and it has just blessed me so! The very words "link up" is what excited me! That's what God wants us to do...link up with him, knowing that he's got our front and back; walking with us every step of the way. Proverbs 18:24 says "but there is a friend who sticks closer than any brother." He will be there through sickness and health, good and bad times, and whatever else you may be going through. And even as I walk with him daily I can hear him say "Janiece tighten up!" He wants us to draw closer and closer to him. We are not perfect people and one person does not know it all, so we continue to seek him daily, gaining more wisdom and understanding knowing that he's right there with us for he said he'd never leave us or nor forsake us.(Deuteronomy 31:8) I don't know where you are in your relationship with him but I invite you to "link up" with him and even if you feel like you're not where you used to be or not where you wanna be....all you gotta do is "tighten up". #LinkUp
