Dirt road

Several months ago I was talking to a coworker about a situation at work and she asked me how I was gonna handle it. ?!?! Without giving it a second thought I replied “I ain’t trying to make no dust on a dirt road”...it rolled off my tongue as if I had said it my whole life! I had never heard it before, let alone said it. We chuckled for a bit as she said “I like that, where did you hear that”! It wasn’t until after I said it that God revealed what it actually meant. You see I grew up in a small country rural area where there used to be lots of dirt roads....lots! Some cars drove by slow so that dirt and gravel wouldn’t fly up everywhere; just simply doing their best to keep minimal dust from getting on their cars. Now there were other cars that drove by really fast, leaving a trail of dust long after their car had disappeared. You see that dust represented chias and confusion; drama and unnecessary stress. And yes, I get it, sometimes you just want to react and take matters in your own hands! But at what cost? Life has enough trouble along the way without me kicking up more dust, taking on extra trouble! I stand up for myself when I need to(kicking up minimal dust). But I gave it to God knowing that if I hold my peace, the Lord would fight my battle. How will you travel down this dirt road of life??? Go in peace...go in Victory! 🚘
